November 2025

Hello November – I can’t believe we are half-way through the month already…that means its Grey Cup, almost Black Friday, and time to get those Christmas Lights Up!

The cold weather is creeping in and it’s time to get your house ready for winter! Here is a quick winter proof checklist for Alberta homes.

  1. Bleed Pipes
Prevent ice bombs in extreme cold weather

  2. Change Furnace Filter
Keep the heat flowing (and lungs happy)

  3. Seal Drafts
Weather-strip doors to save on heat

  4. Smoke/CO Detectors
Test batteries and ensure they work

  5. Thermostat Setback
Drop your house by 1 degree overnight, and save approximately 10% on heat

  6. Reverse Ceiling Fans
Push warm air down (clockwise = winter mode)

  7. Emergency Kit
Flashlight, blanket, bottled water, granola bars (kept in an easy to get to spot)

Why don’t football players get cold in November?
